Meet Zola. She was homeless on the streets of Serbia. Being an unspayed female, she got pregnant and lived out the majority of her pregnancy in cold and deprivation. At some point local people called the rescuers to alert them about poor Zola. The rescuers took the mama in but she was in terrible condition and weakening by the hour. The rescuers took Zola to the vet and the doctor found sepsis - Zola's babies had been dead in the womb for some time and mama was starting to get blood poisoning due to the process of decomposition! Zola got immediate blood transfusion from a sweet healthy dog, Maja. Next was the sad surgery to remove the dead puppies.
