This site at a glance

Welcome to Animal Aid International's new site! The site will be under construction for a while as we transition to the new format and gradually add more content. Our featured post will always be pinned to the top of the page, directly below this text. That is the fundraiser most in need of support. In the menu on the right you can click to learn a little more about AAI and can navigate to stories of animals we have helped. Please note at this time only fundraisers for 2016 and 2017 are fully loaded and we will be slowly adding more stories from previous years. Thank you for your support of our work!

2016 - Dec 24 - Elena

Friends,

Meet tiny Elena. She was rescued from the streets of Bulgaria with an injured paw. We don't know what has caused this injury but one of Elena's front legs was bent and she was unable to put weight on it and was simply dragging it. This, as you can imagine, was the source of pain and additional wounds. Thankfully kind people found Elena and brought her to the attention of the rescuers and they couldn't leave her on the streets like this. Elena has already started on the road to recovery and needs our help in funding her treatment: surgery, a brace, and extensive rehabilitation. Let's together give a chance to Elena to use her leg again! Donate here: https://www.youcaring.com/animalaidinternational-722849

Happy 5th birthday to AAI!

Today marks 5 years since Animal Aid International began operations as a tiny 501(c)3 non-profit! It has been a journey more powerful, emotional, humbling, and inspiring than we could have ever imagined. There have been ups and downs for sure. Through it all, thanks to the help of our donors and supporters, we have been able to make a difference in the lives of SO MANY animals in need! Thank you for making this possible, words can never express our gratitude. We hope you will remain with us on the journey of rescue for many more years to come!

2014 - Oct 26 - Petyo

Friends,

This is pup Petyo who was rescued from the streets of Bulgaria. This poor boy was shot with a BB gun in the neck! Amazingly, the shot didn't result in major tearing of the esophagus or trachea. Petyo ended up sustaining very significant localized swelling which made it difficult to breathe and swallow but is possible to repair. We can only imagine the horror of being shot for simply being homeless and likely very hungry. Please join us in raising the funds this sweetie needs for his treatment. Let's give Petyo a new lease on life! Donate here: http://www.youcaring.com/nonprofits/petyo/252215

2015 - Sep 15 - Rory

Friends,

Meet tiny Rory. The sweet boy was rescued from the streets of Bulgaria with a badly injured paw. We have no idea what caused the injury but it is clear he has been surviving in this state for a while and his leg is beyond repair. At this time the only solution is to have the leg amputated. Without the surgery, the dead paw will keep getting in Rory's way and likely get reinjured and wounded as he doesn't have the sensitivity and control to protect it. Please consider donating to this boy's surgery today. Let's give Rory a fresh start! Donate here: https://www.youcaring.com/animal-aid-international-433976

Rory is happily adopted into a wonderful home!

2016 - Winter 100 spays

Friends,

There are countless cats homeless on the streets of Bulgaria. They face a horrible life of deprivation. Food and shelter are very scarce. Some die of starvation or freeze to death in the winter. Some people hurt cats on purpose, some cats get hit by cars. Kittens are at times eaten by homeless dogs who themselves are at the point of starvation. And of course, there are always diseases and parasites a homeless animal is exposed to!

The absolutely best way to end the cycle of homelessness and suffering is by preventing more babies from being born on the streets. This fundraiser will allow us to get 100 homeless cats spayed and prevent 1,000 kittens from being born on the streets in one year alone! Please consider donating today: https://www.youcaring.com/animalaidinternational-699149

2016 - 85 Fall Spays

We received a wonderfully generous donation which allowed us to perform trap-spay-return on 85 homeless cats in Bulgaria! That's 10 fewer kittens born per year per cat!
